Little One Stamp Set

Hello, Crafters.

I hope you've enjoyed the Easter weekend, and haven't over-indulged with chocolate Easter eggs!

Yesterday I finished stamping all my swaps for Onstage next weekend, so all I need to do now is to adhere the card front onto one Flirty Flamingo Cardstock layer, then write and print out the labels that give a list of ingredients, plus my contact details for the back of each card.

Then hubby will adhere the labels on, and bag each swap into a cello bag for me - I am blessed!

I used the Little One Stamp Set to create today's card - another of my unused stamp sets taken off the list!

Although I've seen some fabulous cards on Pinterest that have been created using this set, and I think it's a great image, I find it a bit unusual to have a wigwam being used for a baby card!

As you can see, my thoughts didn't hinder my creative juices, although I did change my mind about the actual design three or four times as I worked my way through the design.

I used the same idea as I did yesterday for the foil doily; that is, I used my Bone Folder to give the doily a good rub over to flatten the die cut edges on the reverse side, because that's the side I wanted to use!
It's amazing how much difference using the Bone Folder like this makes to the doily so it looks perfect when used on a card!

Using Basic Grey Archival Ink, I stamped the wigwam on a piece of Whisper White (CS), and then coloured the teddy bear, the beads, and a small part of the outside of the wigwam using my Soft Sky Marker Pen.

Then I fussy cut it, and die cut a circle using the Layering Circles Framelits Dies and a piece of Soft Sky and Whisper White Designer Series Paper from Naturally Eclectic.

The actual white of the design are plus signs, which is the same as the design on the stamp I used to decorate the sentiment strip.

The sentiment is from the same stamp set, and I used Basic Grey Archival Ink to stamp it in the centre of a strip I'd cut to fit the width of the card front; then I stamped a few plus signs, using Soft Sky Ink, on either end of the sentiment strip.
To give the strip a holey look, similar to the doily, I punched two Whisper White CS strips using the Decorative Border Ribbon Punch, and adhered them to the strip.

I dry-embossed the top Soft Sky CS layer using the Dynamic Basket Weave Embossing Folder and adhered it to a layer of Whisper White CS, which I then adhered to a Soft Sky CS card base.

This embossing folder was available as a Sale-a-bration gift which has now ended, but it will be available again when the new Annual Catalogue is launched on 1st June 2018.

I adhered the doily to the top layer using Tombow, and then the DSP with Dimensionals and the wigwam with Dimensionals, too.

Don't you just love the Mini Dimensionals when adhering such pointed images to your projects?

I also adhered the sentiment to the card front using Dimensionals.

To finish my card, I adhered a layer of Whisper White CS inside the card, and stamped another wigwam using Basic Grey Archival Ink.

Next I coloured it in the same way as I did the one on the front!

I now have three days left to get myself totally ready to drive up to Telford on Friday, ready for CentreStage on Friday evening, and OnStage all day on Saturday.

I have an hair appointment on Wednesday, as well as a nail appointment on Thursday, which really means I have just over two days left! Eeeekk!!

I also need to make a video for Sunday, which I hope will be showing how I made my swaps using the Stamparatus! With no to time to waste, that's it from me today!

Until tomorrow, happy crafting.☺

  1. What an adorable card! Love it! Beautifully done, as always! TFS

    1. Hi, Geraldine. It's certainly an unusual image for a baby card but that makes it stand out. ☺ Happy crafting. JanB.

  2. Hi, Jan! I just love your blog and videos. Just got done reading today's. I like the way you write as if we are sitting next to you! Love your cute project from today as well as all of them really. We have the same style. Hope you have a safe trip and joyful weekend in Telford. One of these days I hope to get to one over here in the U.S. God bless.

    1. Hi, Jan. I'm so pleased my blog sounds as if we're sitting together and I'm talking to you. ☺ You really should go to OnStage, I'm sure if you go to one, you'll always want to go! In which case maybe you shouldn't go to one! LOL! ☺ Happy crafting, JanB.

  3. hi janb, I just love all the cards that you do and have spent some lovely hours watching your videos here lately. I am new to cardmaking - you have a quiet, patient way of demonstrating how to do things which is very enjoyable. I also love the tips that you give, so very helpful. I was going to join your group but when I went to do so, since being in the USA, it added me to a demonstrator here. I was hoping to give you credit since you have enriched my life so much. Anyway I do have a question for you. The basket weave embossing folder, is it still available? I haven't been able to locate it in the catalog or maybe I missed it. Thanks so much for all your creations and happy crafting to you too.

  4. Hi, CD. Welcome to the wonderful world of cardmaking! I'm pleased you enjoy my videos and that you find them helpful. Unfortunately, I'm not allowed to recruit or sell coss-border. I appreciate that you like to be part of my group, but this is one of SU rules. You're very welcome to join my Facebook group called Happy Crafting. It's a place where crafters can share their projects. The aim is for everyone to get inspiration. Love to see you there. The Basket Weave Dynamic Embossing Folder will be available in the new Annual Catalogue which goes live on 1st June 2018! ☺ Happy crafting, JanB.
