Team Training Bubble Over

Hello, Crafters.

In the afternoon at Team Training, we always craft!

Natalie arranges the cards, the instructions, and the goody bags.

On Sunday, part of our crafting was three cards using the Bubble Over Stamp Set, the Bottles & Bubbles Framelits Dies (available as the Bubble Over Bundle) and the Bubbles & Fizz Designer Series Paper (DSP).

This is available as a level one gift in the Sale-a-bration (SAB) catalogue.

I haven't bought this bundle because it just isn't my style, but it has been good to have an opportunity to play with it.

I must confess, I am now tempted to buy it! LOL!

As I don't have this bundle, I spent quite a bit of time, stamping and die-cutting images from this set, because sometimes I like to put my own spin on the card designs we're given.

The first card is my favourite, and is almost the same as Natalie's card.

I changed the sentiment from May your day BUBBLE OVER with happiness" to the simpler "Best Wishes".

I also changed one of the bottle labels which said "HAVE A BIRTHDAY BREW" so both bottles had a simple design on the labels.

These designs were punched out from one of the sheets of the Bubbles & Fizz DSP with a 1" Circle Punch.

I added some of our gorgeous little Glitter & Clear Epoxy Shapes on the bottle necks to imitate condensation.

Did you notice these Shapes in the Spring/Summer Catalogue - page 33?

I also "painted" the background bubbles using our Fine-Tip Glue Pen, which has dried to a nice shine.

The background for the second card has been brayered using Daffodil Delight, Lemon Lime Twist, Bermuda Bay and Basic Grey.

The instructions then said to stamp the circles in Basic Grey and Lemon Lime Twist first and second impression randomly, but as I don't have the stamp set, I had to look for something else.

I found the swirly stamp in Timeless Textures Stamp Set worked brilliantly, but I only used Lemon Lime Twist, first and second impressions.

I used three bottles on my card, as opposed to the two that were in the instructions.

As well as adding the little drops of condenstaion, I also added a lot of beads of condensation at the bottom of each bottle.

On Sunday, I forgot to die cut the labels for the bottles, so I used the 1 3/8" Scallop Circle Punch, and cut off both sides for my labels.

In the instructions, the sentiment was the same as the previous card, and was in the bottom right-hand corner of the card.

I had only stamped the HAVE A BIRTHDAY BREW sentiment on Sunday, so I punched it out using the 1" Circle Punch and layered it on a punched 1 1/8" Daffodil Delight Scallop Circle.

I adhered it in the top left-hand corner to cover a splodge of Lemon Lime Twist Ink where I had pressed the circle stamp too hard!

I quite like how this card turned out, too.

Unfortunately, I can't say the same about the third card.

The only part I really like about this one is the "celebrate YOU", it's like the eclipse card.

I love how the light brayering has turned out, especially with the heavier brayering on YOU to make it more prominent than celebrate.

I'll definitely be using this technique again - maybe for a video!

Bottle tops just don't do it for me!

I've changed the layout of bottle tops from the instructions and have probably made it look worse!

The second set of cards in our kit uses the Sure  Do Love You Bundle.

I bought this bundle but I didn't buy the Painted With Love Specialty DSP, which is part of the Painted with Love, because I don't like abstract desgns!

I've seen some fantastic projects made by other demonstrators, and now I've seen it in real-life, I love it!

I will get the three projects we have been given for this project made sometime the week and will share them with you.

Until tomorrow, happy crafting.

  1. I concur on all that you have posted; quite like your first cards though. Very cute but just not something that I would use ... the "fit" just isn't there. That said, I absolutely LOVE what you've done with the colouring and colours themselves and the little epoxy shapes! Marvellous!! And they're very fun cards. Glad you had such a great time together with the group!! TFS

    1. Hi, Geraldine. I'm not sure I could come up with any good ideas for this set, and with so many other new ones that I haven't used yet..................I don't know if it's worth getting! Having said that, I don't stand a chance of coming up with ideas if I don' have it here to play with in the first place! LOL! ☺ Happy crafting, JanB.
