Beautiful Bouquet

Hello, Crafters.

Thank you for all the kind words of support I have received on the loss of our dear friend Liz, both here and by email.

The funeral will be next Friday.

Not surprisingly, Liz had made all the arrangements for her funeral quite some time ago!

I spent the day in my studio yesterday continuing with the big clear out I started on Monday. I'm about half way through having done the easy half first!

One of the jobs I did during my clearout yesterday, was to go through my rather large box of the swaps I've been collecting since 2012!

I looked at each one again and then decided which ones I'd keep and which ones I'd throw away!

Eeek! That was not easy!

In fact I felt very guilty throwing them away, but I took a deep breath and went for it!
I kept about 10% of them.

Yesterday evening, I spent a little while crafting and used the Beautiful Bouquet Stamp Set again.

I also used another two new products I want to share with you.

The first is the fabulous Ruffled Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder!

I used it on the Whisper White Cardstock (CS) layer behind the flower image.

The effect is stunning!

Recently I have started to take a dislike to plain white backgrounds and this sorts that problem out beautifully.

The "decoration" on the background layer is absolutely minimal but obvious enough to stop the layer being palin white.

Not only does this embossing folder create the obvious ruffle lines going across the card horizontally, but it also creates "bumps" going vertically from one horizontal ruffle line down to the next.

You can see what I mean in the photographs!

To make this card I used Pool Party and Whisper White CS, and did the stamping with Pool Party and Tranquil Tide Ink.

The sentiment is also from Beautiful Bouquet Stamp Set.

There is a co-ordinating Die set called Bouquet Punch Framelits, which is available with the stamp set and saves 10%!

Another new product I've used on this card is the sparkly 3/8" Shimmer Ribbon in Pool Party.

It's also available in Basic Black, Pear Pizzazz and Powder Pink.

I decorated the inside of the card using the lower part of the flowers and branches.

That's about it for today. Until tomorrow, happy crafting.

  1. This is only the 2nd time I've seen that Ruffled embossing folder used and I am much impressed! I'll definitely be adding it to my wish list, and the Beautiful Bouquet is already there! Love the possibilities with this bundle ... thanks for the sneak peek at what lovely things can be done with it; your card is simply elegant with it's gorgeous use of colours!

    1. Hi, Geraldine. I'm now trying the other two new Dynamic EF I have - Layered Flowers today, but more about that tomorrow! ☺ Happy crafting, JanB.

  2. Simple but beautiful!!! Love the textured background and the flower stamp. Your cards are always so beautiful. Thank you for all the inspiration that you give us but I don't envy you having to clear out a craft room!

    1. Hi, Donna. That's why it's taken me five years to get round to doing it! LOL! ☺ Happy crafting, JanB.

  3. Beautiful, love the effect of the embossing folder. Cheers

    1. Many thanks, Pearl. It does give a very stunning effect. ☺ Happy crafting, JanB.

  4. Jan, I have just recently discovered your blog. You are and amazing and talented artist. I love your work! I would like to thank you for all your sharing and I'd also like to say how sorry I am for the loss of your dear friend. You'll be in my prayers.

    1. Many thanks fr your very kind words and for your prayers, Lana. JanB.

  5. I have been giving cards aka swaps to nursing homes for the folks living there. They love them. Many can't get out to buy cards, but would love to send them. You may think about that for swaps you can't use. All your cards are so beautiful.

    1. That's a great idea, Beverly. Unfortunately, a lot of the swaps are 3D projects or just card fronts. But I may well give them the cards I make, because I certainly make more cards than I have friends! Many thanks for the idea! ☺ Happy crafting. JanB.
