It's the weekend and I hope you have a great relaxing time whatever your plans are.
When I started to think about designing a card for today, all I knew was that I wanted to use a design from the Timeless Elegance Designer Series Paper (DSP). Initially I didn't have a clue what I wanted to do. I decided to used the You Little Furball Stamp Set because I'd been using it earlier in the day when I was trying to decide how I wanted to decorate my swaps.
I'm going to digress for a minute with a quick word about my swaps. I have so many ideas going around in my head about how I should decorate them, I don't know what to do! Today I concentrated on the Lost Lagoon ones and decorated them with flowers, or stars, or dogs, or hearts, etc etc. I've only completed twelve so far - yes, just twelve! - but I am pleased with all of them. Unfortunately, I haven't come up with anything where I've thought "YES!" - so I'll be back to the drawing board with that one tomorrow!
Anyway, back to my card. The colours that coordinate with the Timeless Elegance DSP are Very Vanilla, Basic Black and Sahara Sand but I wanted something to include a colour. I remember a few months ago in the US the Paper Pumpkin featured these colours (or something similar) and had added Pink Pirouette. The projects I saw US demonstrators making with the kit were stunning! I really wish Stampin' Up! would let us have Paper Pumpkin here in the UK!
To make my card I started with a card base of Very Vanilla with a layer of Basic Black and a top layer of my chosen Timeless Elegance design.
I took a strip of Very Vanilla and stamped my three cats using the Basic Black Archival Ink. I'm not sure how I managed it but when I ordered my stamp set I ordered it in wood - when I don't make a mistake, I always buy clear mount with the exception of the large background stamps. It has turned out to be a good mistake because I've made permanent acetate templates for all the stamps in the set, ready to be used with my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig. I store them in the box with the stamps. There is no way I could stamp the heads on top of the bodies without the help of this ingenius tool. My cats would have their heads sitting on their tails without it! LOL!! I layered this strip onto Basic Black and then Pink Pirouette.
I used my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig for the sentiment and layered it as before.
I hope you have a great weekend. Until tomorrow, happy crafting.
